M. & G. Pletsch Personal Riding Arena

The Challenge:

Weather conditions for riding vary wildly in Ontario. The customer wanted the traditional look of a wood barn, but with the natural light and cost-effectiveness of a fabric structure. The facility had to be big enough for multiple riders and engineered to withstand high winds and heavy snow loads. Knowing some fabric structure companies’ buildings don’t meet the strict specifications to be insured against collapse, the customer did a lot of research to make the best choice for a safe and reliable riding arena.

The Solution:

This VP Series fabric structure 80′ x 144′ was an ideal solution. Calhoun’s engineering for this building far exceeded the specifications needed for insurance yet retained the look and feel of a traditional barn. Built over a decade ago, the customer still raves about the return on investment they enjoy as a result of their purchase. They claim that the fact a Calhoun dealer is right in their area gives them the peace of mind that should a question arise, Calhoun is right there to help.

"There has been no maintenance needed and the cover has even withstood the high winds of a nearby tornado. Each month we enjoy a savings on hydro as we only need to use four of the eight lights installed inside...if we use them at all due to the natural light of the fabric!"
