The City of Manhattan’s maintenance division needed a building that could accommodate the movement of bulk materials in and out using heavy machinery while still providing ample space to maneuver. On top of these operational demands, the project required several custom-tailored design elements to suit the unique conditions of their job site, adding complexity to the overall build.
The structure has an open end, allowing the City of Manhattan’s maintenance division to move bulk materials in and out of the building using front-end loaders and dump trucks. To support this workflow, the design included an elevated end to create the necessary clearance and maneuvering space. Calhoun’s engineers quickly adapted the design to meet these specific needs, creating custom details that aligned with the site’s operational requirements. They produced the updated drawings promptly, ensuring the project stayed on schedule and avoided any delays.

“I would absolutely recommend Calhoun. I would work with them again anytime I have a fabric structure need.”
