The Challenge:

The customer was in need of the most economical storage solution for their bulk fertilizer commodity, that would still have the capacity to hold 4,000 tonnes of fertilizer. The economical solutions needed to be offered from short-term building materials to long-term savings.

The Solution:

Calhoun was able to design a fertilizer storage building that would store the relevant commodity using the building’s HSS legs, with intermediate posts and tongue-and-groove pressure-treated 2×6 posts.

Using this design, Calhoun was able to incorporate the design of the structure to support the commodity storage, and eliminate the need for a concrete retainment wall, saving the customer $30-40,000.
