Due to a steady growth over the last decade, M & M Disposal & Recyclers needed a dedicated building for their Lakefield, Ontario transfer station. M & M needed a building that could cover the waste and recycle, while allowing their mid-sized John Deere excavator room to load and unload trucks.
Calhoun’s VP Series offered M & M one of the steepest structure profiles in the industry with an 80’ x 84’ footprint. Because M & M ships and receives up to 250 tonnes of waste material daily, the building had to be installed while the facility was already in production. The structure was erected in sections so M & M could continue to operate and use their site during construction.
The VP Series building offers M & M Disposal and Recyclers the natural light and airflow they need to keep waste materials dry and easy to handle, with lower operational costs. The absence of internal posts means they can load, unload and maneuver within the shelter of the building, while taking advantage of a free span interior for maximum storage capacity.
