D. Bender Personal Riding Arena
Calhoun, together with Lussier Barn Builder, provided all stamped design drawings and engineering schedules within a very quick turnaround so to ensure the structure would be erected in the 10-day time period required. The customer’s wife returned home from her trip to find a 62 x 144 CC series Calhoun cover over her riding ring.
Town of Irondequoit, NY
Calhoun Super Structure and New York dealer, Hybrid Building Solutions, were awarded the contract to erect a temporary structure for heated storage. Calhoun adapted a standard design and improved reliability of components by changing the design in the areas that were affected by lower slope aversion, producing a good solution for the site and a structure that was able to nestle beneath the guide wire.
While Calhoun’s engineers took the time to make sure all the engineering issues were solved, the turn around time from concept to completion was only 3-months. This would solved the Town’s immediate needs for a 2-year term.
In August 2019, Calhoun’s VP Series 80 x 240 structure was taken down and re-located for the Town of Irondequoit to its new location on the same property.
Westerner Park
Calhoun Super Structure designed custom saddle brackets to connect the existing foundation to the base plates. The design saved $10,000s of dollars in the bid process in lieu of using screw piles or extra pilasters. In order to meet the installation deadline, Coverco mobilized a massive installation crew to expedite the process.
The installers worked two shifts of 12 hours/day to ensure completion. The buildings arrived on time; both Cover-All’s were disassembled and the new Calhoun buildings were installed days before the deadline. The fair went ahead without a hitch.
Township of South Frontenac, ON
The large 100 x 102’ VP Series fabric structure salt storage building was completed within a few days and represents a major upgrade from the previous salt storage facility. This fabric structure is the second one erected for the Township. With plenty of space for storing, mixing and equipment, this salt storage building was an ideal solution for the Township of South Frontenac.
Strike Energy Services
Calhoun Super Structure, together with Coverco Buildings, provided all stamped design drawings and engineering schedules. The chief engineer inspected the work post-installation and the customer was able to achieve a quick occupancy permit. Installation crews braved cold/windy weather to safely install the building within the allotted time frame.
KNM Group
Two custom Calhoun CC-Series buildings were designed and engineered for KNM on a 2 row-high sea container foundations, with custom 25’ x 28’ door openings and 28’ high side walls to accommodate the vessels. The custom job gave KNM the affordable height they needed, while offering additional storage they were looking for nearby in the sea containers.
The CC Series buildings allowed for the easy entrance and exit of the vessels through large bi-folding doors. The cost-effective project was completed on time, and on budget, which offered KNM a covered solution with substantial value to their operation.
Cenovus Energy
The Calhoun structure was installed quickly and efficiently, and came in significantly under budget for the Alberta energy company. The large space, without the hassle of centre poles, offers Cenovus the maximum storage capacity it needs to assist with a large operation. The structure stands up to the harsh Alberta winters and offers a fully-engineered solution to keeping their staff safe while at work inside.
M&M Disposal & Recyclers
Calhoun’s VP Series offered M & M one of the steepest structure profiles in the industry with an 80’ x 84’ footprint. Because M & M ships and receives up to 250 tonnes of waste material daily, the building had to be installed while the facility was already in production. The structure was erected in sections so M & M could continue to operate and use their site during construction.
The VP Series building offers M & M Disposal and Recyclers the natural light and airflow they need to keep waste materials dry and easy to handle, with lower operational costs. The absence of internal posts means they can load, unload and maneuver within the shelter of the building, while taking advantage of a free span interior for maximum storage capacity.
On the Forest Boarding
On The Forest Boarding chose a Calhoun HT Series building for their riding arena for it’s high top design with tons of natural light. The soft lighting has a calming effect on the horses and the riders. Calhoun’s sound-dampening fabric cover is quieter in the rain than traditional wood or steel roof structures, which keeps the horses calm and comfortable. The Calhoun HT Series building offers On The Forest Boarding the maximum amount of space for riders to enjoy without worry about centre poles.
Highland Training Camp
Calhoun turned the project around within the 90-day deadline, offering the Highland Training Camp a bright, airy, fully-engineered space for riders of all ages, with enough room for their ramps, decks, lips, drops and a huge foam pit. The naturally lit, well-ventilated space brings the outdoors in to give their riders the true mountain biking experience indoors.
